From Netroots Nation: takepart.com/citizenlobbyist
This has truly been a trans formative event for me. I just returned from a long vacation of 6 days in Miami for the Gay and Lesbian Association of Choruses convention and then 4 days in Austin for the Netroots Nation event. WOW, how empowering and inspiring a week it has been.
I have searched for years for my niche for on the blogs. It has cleared up so much for me. I find myself in tears when I listen to young people talk about the future of this country and the world. Their diversity, their energy, and their vision of what America can be and how we can solve the problems before us has inspired me to use the net to empower LGBT youth to become politically and socially active in being who they are.
The chorus movement is a prime example of how LGBT youth can change the world through music. The same can be done in every other aspect of society. On the Job, in the political area, on the ball field and golf course, in Hollywood or on the news set; every aspect of LGBT life can be elevated through empowering youth to come out and be who they are.
Empowering youth to organize and go forward using the phenomenal technology of today. I am going to start with getting involved with the Chorus youth movement by getting them talking on the net and organizing their future in GALA themselves. GALA can provide so much for the LGBT youth choruses to get started, but the youth must be in charge of their own destiny.
I will keep all informed on this blog as I move forward with this. I welcome any ideas you may have to further this action and look forward to all your comments
