Since Congress' Web sites have ground to a halt in a mad, last-minute rush to read the compromise stimulus bill before today's House vote (and Saturday's planned Senate vote), we've posted copies of the bill here:

For non-speed readers, we've also got a detailed overview of the provisions in last night's version of the bill. If you prefer to roll up your sleeves, try our tip sheet for decoding the stimulus at home.

If you want to worry now would be the time

I have been saying for some time that world economic instability caused to a greater degree by the United States banking and monetary system is a larger threat than terrorism on its own. The anger around the world at the greed and arrogance of the American Government under George W.. Bush and the American Corporate community is of great danger to our stability and well being.

Only today we hear that Dubai is in a state of economic free fall, Great Britain is in the worst financial situation since World War II, China's economy is grinding to a halt, and all Oil producing nations are in dire straits, including Hugo Chavez's Venezuela.   Our southern neighbor is in complete turmoil due to drug cartel wars and loss of oil revenue Not only is this all going to clntribute to more economic instability but we have lost all respectability as the monetary leader of the world and it could lead to insurrections that may well cross our borders.

You say I am being an alarmist.  I believe President Obama came along just in time to help us avoid major confrontations but he may not be able to stop all of it. We may well get attacked due to the reckless arrogance and greed of Dick Cheney and George W.  Bush.

There is no love lost around the world for America, right now. President Obama is seen as hope around the world, but I can assure you there are some who will not be wooed.
